Chinese Ambassador to the US Xie Feng and Under-Secretary of the US Treasury Jay Shambaugh had a candid, in-depth and constructive exchange of views on issues of mutual interest during their talks on Friday in Washington, the Chinese embassy said in a readout.
Xie, who took the ambassadorial post late last month, emphasized the importance for the two countries to strengthen dialogue, manage differences and remove obstacles.

The two sides agreed to maintain communication on advancing mutually beneficial cooperation in bilateral and multilateral fields, according to the readout.
