Chinese premier congratulates Montenegro’s new PM

BEIJING – Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on May 5 extended congratulations to Dritan Abazovic on his assuming office as Montenegro's prime minister.

In a congratulatory message, Li said China and Montenegro enjoy traditional friendship.

With joint efforts of both sides, bilateral relations have been developing in a steady and healthy way, he said, adding that practical cooperation including in infrastructure construction has yielded fruitful results, bringing tangible benefits to people of the two countries.

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the two sides have joined hands to fight the epidemic and their traditional friendship has been further deepened, Li said.

Li said that he is willing to work together with Abazovic to consolidate the political mutual trust between the two countries, constantly deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Montenegro to achieve greater development.
