Chinese premier congratulates new Finnish PM

BEIJING — Chinese Premier Li Qiang sent a congratulatory message on Monday to Petteri Orpo on his taking office as Finland's prime minister.

In the message, Li said the China-Finland future-oriented new cooperative partnership has been making new progress in recent years.

Li said he stands ready to work with Orpo to take the 70th anniversary of the signing of the China-Finland Governmental Trade Agreement as a new starting point, to enhance political mutual trust, maintain high-level exchanges, deepen practical cooperation, expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to bring tangible benefits to their people.
