SAMARKAND, Uzbekistan – President Xi Jinping arrived here on Wednesday evening to pay a state visit to Uzbekistan and attend the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The Chinese leader reached the Uzbek city after a state visit to Kazakhstan earlier in the day.

He left Beijing on Wednesday morning to attend the SCO meeting and pay state visits to the two countries at the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
