Management agencies of Hengqin cooperation zone announced

The management agencies of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Zhuhai city, were unveiled on Friday, further accelerating the new zone's development.

The area will be administered by a management committee led by Governor of Guangdong province Ma Xingrui and Macao's Chief Executive Ho Iat-seng, according to the zone's official website

Under the body is an executive committee that undertakes the economic and livelihood management functions of the zone.

The executive committee includes nine bureaus covering a wide range of affairs, such as legal affairs, economic development, financial development, commercial service, statistics, urban planning, construction and livelihood affairs.

Established on September 5, the cooperation zone spread over 106 square kilometers, aims to facilitate the economic diversification of Macao through deeper collaboration with Guangdong.
